About Us

The company began with the vision of co-founders, Dawn and Jim LaMorte. When the family moved to Atlanta in 2008 for Jim’s job, Dawn’s employer, District Twelve of Florida Medical Examiner’s Office, requested that she continue on as an independent contractor transcribing their autopsy protocols. During the process they found there was not a medical transcription service focusing directly on the unique transcription needs of medical examiner, forensic pathologist, and coroner offices, thus Expert Transcription Services, Inc. was born. 

Our Founders

Dawn LaMorte – For more than twenty years, Dawn has served as a certified medical transcriptionist, with nine of those years spent working within a medical examiner’s office.  She has a broad knowledge of many medical subspecialties, with a higher concentration on neurology and pathology.  Her expert knowledge of medical terminology and English grammar enable her to produce highly accurate reports in an expedient fashion. 

Jim LaMorte – Jim is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice and over Twenty Two years experience in project and operation management within the software and IT industries, with a focus on client relationships and services.

Together Dawn and Jim combine years of medical transcription and client service expertise to provide the foundation for Expert Transcription Services, Inc. They live in Marietta, Georgia with their two children, Isabella and Ryne.
